Artist StatementNearly all of my work is currently devoted to the expoloation of glass as a suclptural medium although I occasionally accept commissions in other media.Where appropriate I employ adaptations of modern glass engineering techniques and methods used in the construction of shatterproof glass laminates. In this way I am able to create glass sculptures which do not reuire ancillary support and yet, as works of art, are robust and durable. I am interested in light and ofrm and the ambiguities that transparent forms create within themselves and their surroundings. I also enjoy the challeng of working against the constrainst of an essentially lamella medium together with the freedom of scale that this approach makes available. | |
